Sunbeam and the lovely folk at Love Food Hate Waste have teamed up for Pie Week in a bid to combat the massive amount of food New Zealand households waste every day.
No matter what you have leftover, there's enough to make a pie. The proof is over at Love Food Hate Waste's website, where clever chefs and cooks have created pie recipes from commonly wasted foods.
Beef, smoked fish, chicken, and fruit are all delicious fillings, but you might be surprised to know the pie pictured above is made with leftover lettuce, as well as feta and kumara. The clever team at The Next Meal dreamt up the recipe, which you can find by clicking here.
