Easter, by definition, is a celebration of rebirth, a fresh start.
So when the team at Whittaker's decided to use their chocolatey goodness to do some genuine good, we couldn't help but sit up and take notice.
This Easter, Whittaker's have put their heads together once again, in a bid to protect our precious little national icon. In keeping with their previous Easter initiative, 20 cents from every Whittaker’s Chocolate Kiwi sold will go to Operation Nest Egg – an environmental mission created by Kiwis for klwis, to ensure that kiwi eggs and chicks are kept safe from nature's predators for up to a year.
Last year, Whittaker's put their money where their mouth is, successfully re-releasing 66 kiwi to the wild.
Operation Nest Egg has proved a huge success in growing kiwi numbers, with around 200 kiwi returned to the wild each year.
In a bid to celebrate the pro-active Kiwis in our community, our friends at Whittaker's are celebrating Easter by giving. This week, we're giving three lucky Dish readers the chance to win a beautiful Whittaker's chocolate hamper.
This competition has now closed.
