Top chefs come together for Fiji fundraiser

This weekend, five top local chefs will be serving up delicious Fiji-inspired food to help relieve the damage caused by Cyclone Winston.

Five of Auckland's top chefs are coming together this Sunday for a fundraiser to aid the relief effort following Cyclone Winston, which struck Fiji last month.

Flavours of Fiji will be held at Shed 10 and The Cloud this Sunday; for just $20 you'll be able to try four of the Fiji-inspired dishes created by Ben Bayly (The Grove and Baduzzi), Gareth Stewart (Nourish Group), Mark Southon (O’Connell St Bistro), Michael Meredith (Merediths and Eat My Lunch initiative) and Sid Sahrawat (SIDART and Cassia).

The day's dishes will be inspired by Fiji and its flavours and include a take on a Fijian hangi, Kokoda (raw fish), a lamb kofte with curry sauce (of which a vegetarian option will also be available) and a Kailoma dessert (a version of a banana caramel trifle). Alongside the four food stalls there will also be a drinks station as well as music and live cultural performances.

All proceeds from the Flavours of Fiji will go to Oxfam New Zealand which is delivering relief work on the ground in Fiji.
