Last Night's Dinner – Social Kitchen
Melt-in-your-mouth slow-cooked lamb shoulder, creamy blue cheese gnocchi and hearty charcuterie make Social Kitchen one of our favourite addresses in the Naki.
When it comes to hearty grazing plates, Social Kitchen have it down to an art form.
Follow the scent of slow-cooked lamb or marbled Angus beef and prepare yourself for an evening of pure degustational delight, because Social Kitchen deliver nothing less.
If you're opposed to a menu where meat reigns supreme, the flavoursome vege sides and heavenly blue cheese gnocchi are bound to satisfy; however the taxidermy on display from wall-to-wall probably may not be your atmosphere of choice.
The interior fit-out is befitting of the menu, leather-clad private dining booths boast a casual bistro-feel, while the centrally-located floating iron bar houses nothing but the hard stuff.
wild rocket, macadamia nuts and juicy, generous slices of rock melon, drizzled with extra virgin olive oil.
Social Kitchen is the ideal group dining locale, fit for a special occasion, long overdue catch up or a five-star feast. Should you ever find yourself passing through New Plymouth, this is one bistro that's well-worth the cheeky detour.

Issue #115
Issue 115 is packed with inspiration for all kinds of cosy meals – whether you’re dining alone, as two or with a few. We start with our Plating Game interview with Jesse Mulligan which inspired a medley of curries and sides then move on to a round up of easy one-pan chicken dishes, a variety of pasta bakes and meatballs, and using one simple yet delicious tart base we whip up five fab filling options. Sarah’s wintry faves include a moreish chorizo (not) carbonara, lamb and spinach filo pie and we finish off with sweet treats and decadent puds. We love seeing what you create, don’t forget to share your dish dishes with our Facebook community. When it comes to winter cooking, make it SIMPLY YUM!
