Be In To WIN a $300 Voucher for Yum Cha at East Restaurant, Auckland
*COMPETITION CLOSED*
Following the sell-out success of their Sunday Yum Cha series last year, East is bringing back their vegan twist on the beloved Cantonese tradition, and this time it’s for good.
At the helm of the offering is Executive Chef Stuart Marsden whose impressive resume features spots like Finn’s Beach Club and Mamasan in Bali. His right-hand man, Head Chef Vincent Yan originates from the birthplace of Yum Cha and spent years mastering the art of Cantonese cuisine. Marsden and Yan are just two of a team bursting with pan-Asian experience.
Expect to see vegan dim sum dishes like Glutinous Rice Taro Roll with soya mince, peanut and sesame, or Mushroom Bao expertly crafted to look exactly like its namesake, filled with meaty shiitake and wood ear mushrooms. Fans of the original menu shouldn’t fear though, all of the crowd favourites remain, from Crispy Lotus Root Wontons to their famed Mango Tapioca Pudding. Many dishes are made in-house with their resident experience and expertise, and some of the dumpling selections have been produced by master dumpling makers exclusively for East.
Yum Cha at East is available every Sunday from 11:30am – 2:30pm. It is located on the ground floor of the Sudima Auckland City Hotel, at 63-67 Nelson Street, Auckland CBD. Bookings are strongly encouraged, for more information and bookings, click here and you can read our review on the restaurant here.
