Kai on Queens back for summer
Back by popular demand, Kai on Queens is returning to Auckland's Queens Wharf this summer.
With its ever-changing selection of fresh and vibrant food, coupled with top notch entertainment for big and little kids alike, Kai on Queens is set to become a Friday afternoon favourite.
Each Friday Queens Wharf transforms into the perfect outdoor eatery from 11:30am – 2:30pm. With a relaxed vibe, this end-of-the-week lunchtime inner city venue has a varied and changing array of food vendors including The Beverage Boy, MexiKai, Stumpy’s Pizza, The Cool Store and more.
Local DJs are on site and there is a raft of free games – everything from swing ball to table tennis, or oversized board games like Connect Four, Scrabble and Jenga.
Now in its second summer, Kai on Queens has its own sister event. ‘Play on Queens’, a series of midweek pop up events including free yoga, drawing classes and mini-festivals.
The vendors for further markets in January and March are yet to be announced.

We start with our Plating Game interview with Jesse Mulligan which inspired a medley of curries and sides then move on to a round up of easy one-pan chicken dishes, a variety of pasta bakes and meatballs, and using one simple yet delicious tart base we whip up five fab filling options. Sarah’s wintry faves include a moreish chorizo (not) carbonara, lamb and spinach filo pie and we finish off with sweet treats and decadent puds.
