Drop of the Day, Jules Taylor 2019 Marlborough Pinot Noir
We’re feeling like a big ‘ole bowl of caramelised onion mushroom soup with cheesy mushroom toasties this weekend – perfectly partnered with our spicily delicious Drop of the Day, Jules Taylor, 2019 Marlborough Pinot Noir.
If you’re feeling a wee bit fancy and having friends over for dinner this weekend, you might also want to enjoy it with duck breasts with balsamic spiced cherries – an equally stunning match!
Deep purple in colour and with intense aromas of ripe plum, mulberries and dark fruits with just a hint of toasty earthy notes underneath, this luscious drop is sensational with mushrooms. The grapes were grown in Marlborough’s Southern Valleys, then predominantly harvested by hand at optimum ripeness. A combination of traditional and modern techniques was employed in creating the stunning finished product, bottled in March 2020. With a mid-palate that is round and concentrated, with fruit balanced by earthy, savoury notes it is anticipated that this wine will also develop very nicely over the coming years.
